Bank bug

My bank size is smaller than it should with arround 750mil.... is it because the game didn't updated properly or you changed something?

if this is on live server then no clue what happened cos i didn't do any changes to live for about a day and no changed to bank in particular for a while

the bank on my account appears to have decreased though too, will look at it
ok no real clue what went wrong but training a unit should fix it, now only to find out how it happened in the first place

It's the same thing that happened in the betasite awhile ago when i told you about it. Something must be wrong.

well i'm gonna watch and see if it drops again. cos it only recalculates when it's told to recalculate and even then it always uses the same function to calculate it.

I tryed to do what you asked, trained a few more farmers. Now the bank is smaller with 1bil than what it should be.

mine's kinda remained the same, k i guess this one will be a pain to find as it appears the problem is hard to reproduce intentionally

i jus trained 2k more farmers, my incoem rose as it should however the bank size didnt.

It happened again. The bank is smaller with 1.1bil. I haven't figured yet what's causing it, but it always happens at the daily reset before any new update to the database.

Could be something related to the reset?...

And also in the testserver the bank is smaller than it should, so it is the same cause.

which is really strange because the script that's run daily only does things like delete old messages, logs, update AE for everyone and saves statistical data about the game, like race distribution, average income, army, up etc.
Except for changing AE and recovering donation limit it does nothing else to individual users.

When i get home in the evening i'll run a search through all the pages to find where the Bank Space value gets changed other than in the calculating bank size function. Cos i think that's the only option left, some forgotten code.

Mine has now started to decrease, and due to the fact it was full my resources started spilling out into the open.

ACTUALLY:
with the recent changes to the code structure i turned off the auto spilling out for a few days.
cos didn't want to screw people over because of some things that would malfunction, but will turn it on sometime soon and without warning.

However if your bank is overfilled and you click deposit it will automatically withdraw everything that's in excess of your bank

(because it always checks if what you want to deposit is more than your current bank size, to allow to fill bank by max with one click. However if your bank space remaining is negative, it will take that negative value)

So i fixed this one now. If you're over your capacity then trying to deposit more wont do anything now.

I know what you mean and how annoying it can be. It could be a minor thing that's causing it... but i'm also worried, because the banksize is related to the income... and you don't know what happens with that income, if you know what i mean (think to about 4% of each players income that is disapearing each day for 1-2 hours, where is it going? - i forgot to check if the income generated is correct - will do it tomorrow if it happens again).... but let's not be that suspective yet. I hope that it's nothing serious, though.

What is also strange is that when the database updates again, the bank returns to it's normal size. For example, now it is as big as it should be. (I think that it fixed itself sometimes in the first 2 hours after the reset)

the thing is that the function to calculate bank size, that is used when you set to train units or when the auto update thing does its round for everyone, works properly.

the thing that's causing the drop is obviously some renegade code which i have to find.

I've been stuck at 50 million for my bank size for a few days now, despite my continuously increasing my income units. Even using a Market Reserve did nothing to the size.

ah yeh 50 mil is the min bank size you will have.
once your bank size is larger than 50 mil you will notice an increase

It is? It took me a few days to get a 50 mil bank. I got to just over 10 mil, and then when I logged in later, it had shot to 50 mil and stayed there.

yes, was intentionally, cos new accounts start with 50 mil kuwal in the bank. and the code is meant to remove all kuwal that you cannot carry in your bank into the open for others to steal

this is to prevent users from using the trade broker (as the kuwal traded goes into the bank directly) to bank kuwal they cannot deposit normally.

So that it doesn't happen that a new account registers, and even though they are on protection, get attacked later by others if they dont want to spend all of it

ok ran the search and there's only one way in the whole game how your bank size can change, and that's by running the main function to calculate bank size.

so for now no clue what's screwing it up

admin... this is a joke right?... today the bank is bigger with 500mil in main, while in testserver it is smaller with over 4.5bil

ok, implemented the fix. We'll see if what i suspect is causing it, really is the problem

that's possible. since how it gets calculated sorta changed, but it's still 2 days of your income times bank multiplier.
but it should now stick with the value and go up and down depending on your income

the bank should keep a maximum of what your civilian units can produce in 1 single day.
