More pictures, more images

Do you think we should add more pictures on Aderan?

Possibilities:
-Pictures for all weapons, which could appear in the Armory.
-Image for each alliance, and/or a simple alliance flag, which could appear next to the players name.
-Pictures for Research: Each research type could have a picture, weapon level research would show the new weapon which could be researched. (If you have level 8 weapon already, the level 9 weapon would appear in the research page)
-Custom avatars for each player. You might be able to decide how your avatar will look like. You might have the possibility to chose one of the 4 races and decide on the appearance of your avatar and the clothes and armament he has. The picture could appear if you would click on battlefield and open the page of the player, and also in the command center, or in the alliance page.
-other suggestions?

Very cool Ideas and if you had not caught me offguard I would write more, but that sounds very cool

as massing could be a nightmare if it did...

cached images function?
but there's a difference between slowing down load time due to server doing more calculations as a result of more complicated code

or slowing down load time due to you needing to transfer more data as a result of having images

the first is a server based issue, the latter is a client based issue and easily manageable

you can either cache or disable pictures if the performance drops considerably.

I'd ask that if something so useless is put in to make it toggleable so I can immediately turn it off.

This is a Text base game, I'd prefer it stay that way myself but dont want to hold anyone else back if they want pictures.

I agree with Nomad. This game should have the option for pictures or no pictures, like the login screen. I think that there could be a bit more pictures, but not too many.

There would be pictures on the armory, which means it could slow down loading the first time you open it, but we will keep the image size very low, not more than 10 kB, probably something like 4 kB per picture.

well the options for a picture or no picture would be cool, but I think a couple of pics would be neat :-)
