Im curious to know who the biggest Farmers and Raiders are in the game, It will give bragging rights as well as people competing to be the best Farmers and Raiders .

My only concern is the same as the ME problem in TGW. There needs to be a "break off point" where it basicly resets. Meaning past ME score doesn't count.

See the problem is someone could gain alot of ME, and then do nothing for months on end. New players could be getting alot of ME but because an account 6 months old has gotten so much of a head start, their efforts are in vein.

As far as the awards go I'd like to see the ME count reset every month or every 3 months or something.

I have also thought of that to be honest and was rather thinking to do something along those lines.

just there's some practical issues i've yet to find out how to do in a more effective manner

because if i add resettable ME points, people will want to have some "everlasting" records, which means I have to have 2 separate records for each person.
In addition to that it means, instead of updating one table after each battle for each participant, I have to update two tables for each participant after each battle, etc.

why not make it monthly between people that don't have it yet?

Perhaps make an artificial minimum based on economy in the game. If it's a slow month and people aren't farming much ... say DECEMBER Smile then they won't get the medal for farming ony 10 bil Smile

I don't know anything about coding, but is it not possible to use the existing tables, but make the caluculation on count the last 30 days?

I mean sure, it is possible, but the effort involved (just alone in terms of server load) would be out of proportion to the benefit compared to the current system

dune had something that you could reset yourself.not sure how he did it but

admin what if having 2 tables, and
not write to the 1 untill day 30....

table 1 is perm info....
table 2 is temp info good for 30 days

the all time records show table 1 + table 2
where the temp shows table 2

then at the 30 day mark make table 2 write to table 1.. then go on its way

I haven't tried anything like that so don't ask me what it would do to server load.

Well I'm sure you can and will find a suitable system, or just not create them.

If its only going to be between a few players, mainly older accounts, its going to be useless for the most part.

I agree with Kenzu. I'm glad to see this thread resurrected -- I think this is an excellent idea. I think the best/coolest way to implement would be to start a counter each month, give the award based on this counter at the end of the month then reset the counter. As admin pointed out it is additional data that needs to be stored, but it seems pretty straightforward to me to do it this way.

If we figure out how to do this could you make it an award to go with the bottom 10 that help you get the supreme award? It will make it possible for a newer player to be able to get the supreme award levels easier since with the game growing Most people will have silver or even gold in every award except for loyalty and a new player starting off that is highly active will be at a disadvantage personal points wise for a full year at least just for silver, I dont even know how long it takes to get gold. I have had silver in everything except loyalty for a couple of weeks now and wont get the loyalty medal for another 2 months. Offering various ways to get the medals that give more points sounds like a good idea to me but its not really my call.

Sounds good to me.

But Awards are given not relatively to other players achievements, but they are standard values. Maybe we could make it certain value that has to be achieved to get additional awards:

Steal
100 million kuwal for iron
500 million kuwal for bronze
2.500 million kuwal for silver
10.000 million kuwal for gold

Raid
1.000 UU for iron
10.000 UU for bronze
100.000 UU for silver
500.000 UU for gold

And additionally you could get 2 Medals, one for farming and one for raiding if you farm or raid most in the given months you will get gold, second best gets silver, 3rd best gets bronze.

Well if you go that route, I hope the numbers are increased 10 fold or so. I don't really like the entire achievements thing myself but I'm not fighting the idea. Just saying at those levels everyone can have them in a year, then there is nothing left to chase, no goal left to meet, no target to set your sights on.

@nomad, I understand what you are saying, & I understand that you are not a big fan of the awards as a whole. but you gotta admit that the idea is a sound one. I don't have a problem with changing the numbers...

I was thinking more that there are these type of awards released then in a little while when people start to gain these awards admin begins to release new ones to make it so there is always a goal. I like how kenzu has it set up with static amounts that when you reach you get the awards but I feel they should be set a bit higher. like raiding 1mil UU for silver and 2mil for gold. And have to farm 250bil kuwal for silver and 500bil for gold. Much harder to achieve
