UU price used for farming policies

There will be always farming disputes until those who use farming policies make clear which farming policies they use.

That's why I suggest the following:
Alliance leaders must post their farming policy in their MOTD, and they should explain in detail what minimum profit is required, and how to calculate losses, including showing the UU price they use.

Additionally to prevent further problems it will be better if a thread on the forum is used to declare the current UU price which will be used for all alliances. It can be updated once a month or 2 times a month, depending what we agree on.
I suggest that the UU price will be either the fair GM price (which is roughly the double of the minimum price allowed when making a bid), or we can use the average between buy and sell price on the GM.

According to the first method UU price is: 253.878
According to the 2nd method UU price is: 278.358

The advantage of the first method is that its harder to influence as its taken from the last 7 days of trading
The advantage of the 2nd method is that its easier to spot for unexperienced players, but the disadvantage that it can be much easier influenced by a player who makes higher buying bids and buys available uu to increase prices just before the new price is measured.

We could add a rule that UU price declared here can never fall, due to the long term growth of UU prices since 1.1.2009

This is how it would work:
On the 1st of a month the uu price is decided this way: the first person who posts here the GM rates and calculated UU price, that's the price that will be used for 15 days.
If no one posts an update on the 1st of a month, then no update on UU prices is made.

What is your opinion on this, which method of calculation do you prefer, how often should UU prices update, should UU prices used for farming be allowed to fall?
Any other ideas?

PS: Don't use this thread for talking about current farming disputes. This method can be used once its agreed on, but not for hits that happened before it has been agreed on.

I suggest either 1st of every month, or 1st and 15th of every month this amount be recorded and used by all equally. I do think UU prices should be allowed to fall as this is a 1 week average. We do not know what future updates may bring. If prices fall naturally or can be forced down for weeks at a time then the price should fall the same. JMO.

It looks good so far, my post yesterday list it as

Average Rates (last 7 days)

1 Untrained = 279,322 Kuwal

1 Attack Turn = 31,672,337 Kuwal

1 Attack Turn = 117 Untrained

And today it is

Average Rates (last 7 days)

1 Untrained = 278,930 Kuwal

1 Attack Turn = 32,013,658 Kuwal

1 Attack Turn = 117 Untrained

So very close, but still different.

I see the only problem being what if there is a significant change in price over 48 hrs?

Example. A hit is made on monday. It is reported the next day. Negotiation about it begin and it is 48 hrs before conclusion. When do you log the UU price? When the hit was made?(impossible TBH). When the hit was reported by the defender? When alliance leaders/diplomats become involved? When the compensation is paid?

Ultimately I think we need at least a week to see how stable it is, then everything else should fall into place fairly easy and quickly.

I would like to say that TM, Muj, TIE have all agreed to a u rate of 350k
Which will go into affect on 5/12 at 0:00 game time. So any hits made after the start of the 12th will be under the new rate.

The extended notice is to give time for word to be spread

I believe the average UU price was over 375k for over a month now.
It might be a good idea to update.

Because its 350 is close enough.

The main reason I don't want to change it is

As you can see the price of 1 UU is dropping.

The uu price hasn't been near 350.000 for a very long time.

the avg has dropped 6 in 2 days...
I not saying that it will get down to 350k but at the rate its going, in 2 days it will be under your suggested 375k.

Although it is possible that the uu prices can fall in the short term. In extreme cases they could even fall to 350.000, even though I regard this as relatively unlikely, in the long term uu prices will approach 400.000 kuwal per uu.

I predict an average uu price of 400.000 kuwal or more, on the galactic market in about 2-4 months.
(assuming there will be no crises such as major wars. Wars cause a temporary fall in uu prices as players sell uu in firesales to get their hands on more kuwal for the war effort.)
