Bug is back Admin

i am whining already... i had some assassins queued for training... now i have to train them again... i was in ppt awaiting to be massed, now i have to wait again

I mean i'm not worried, but if I make a public warning that anyone whining about it will get their forum and ingame account suspended for a week, then i'll get accussed of excessive punishing for no reason.

Which part of "uploaded a fix and tested a dozen combinations of correct/incorrect login data to make sure it was working as it should" did you not get?

Tbh in the last half a year I came to realize why they do it, however I felt that the players deserve more than that, but if people like it better the other way then I'll gladly comply with that demand.

With all the stuff with the war recently, this has to be the absolute worst time for there to be a hack like this. Which leads me to believe the timing was intentional. It's even possible that getting the site rolled back was the whole point of the attack, tho I may be giving the person too much credit.

this really does make me sad, as this will most likely wipe out my best farming streak thus far.

Yes, I realise that anything I may lose is probably a drop in the bucket for those that were victimized. Probably won't find out, but I'm a little curious what other accounts than SA47 got seriously hit.

Skyfighter, you must have forgotten the sarcasm tag. This was an exploit being used. Someone deliberately trying to damage the game. Blame the hacker, rather than Admin.

i don't know about Skyfighter, but i have them opened by default in the reply box

a rollback is not 100% certain. I might be able to write a script that will run through all action logs and "turn them back"

However considering some issues I might end up with, there is also a chance I will write a log to run through the actions that have been made since the last backup

or maye just a rollback. I simply dont know for sure at the moment

will we get an extension for the Supporter Status?

i should have my SS extended with the same time the server is down

I think the hacker became active and started causing damage from about 17.12 ingame time onwards (thats when TIE first got disbanded). After that everything else happened.

Not sure if knowing the precise time of the *known* exploitations of the bug will make it easier for you to do the script idea thing, but figured i d post it lol

I just hope all the damage can be undone.

This definitely looks like a hack-attack.

After this gets fixed

I think it will be necessary from now on to make a back up each single day, so that any damage done in the future can be undone without much loss.

And keep back up for at least 1 week.

I'm calling for a permaban of the person/people involved in this.
Anyone who tries to get rid of his account or sell his resources, is a potential hacker.
But the hacker can only be found after his actions are traced back.
It must have been done by someone who plays the game.

Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea if the leaders of the strongest 3-5 alliances would receive some kind of possibility to freeze the game progress if something like this happens, so that we can stop damage being done to the game earlier.

Of course, abuse of this possibility would lead to the loss of the right to freeze the game and a temporary or permanent ban.

I don't think anyone would argue against a permaban.

I agree it was someone who played the game till recently.

TIE has already gone in 72 hour ceasefire with the war.

if it's about alibis then i have to say that when this happened i was watching episodes 7, 8, 9, 10 (season 1) from legend of the seeker

if necessary i can write a summary of those episodes

I can tell you the exact SECOND of each and every alliance disbanding
Hell, I can tell you which pm's got read, what pages opened and what units trained.

That's why a rollback in the literal sense of taking the current database and tracing back all actions that have been done is an actually realistic alternative.
The only issue I'll have is that with disbanding the alliance, the alliance war exp have been deleted and I dont keep a backup of those.

The thing with finding the person, they used a proxy, so the only way for me to track them is to find the person they got into first by finding out about the bug and hope it was somewhat of an accidental finding out of the bug which means the ip they logged in with will be the one they regularly use.
Considering the IP list has around 25-30k records and I need to find the 2-3 relevant ones .... yes talk about a needle in a haystack, kinda somewhere between a n*n and a n^n problem

no offense, but I do not think anyone except admin should be doing this. If people play this game and are admins, they could be bias too. This is not a offensive post to anyone. Please do not get me wrong, but it can be anyone and I think admin should be the only one checking in on this. Greetz all

Maybe after this bug is patched you can make it impossible to log in through a proxy server? I Know a few games that have coding like that. Not sure how it is done though

is that even possible? I could see it blocking some proxy but not all. Also some places of work use proxy servers.
