well the fresh start argument isn't really applicable.
I am not sure if the bans dont get carried over too Smile

I just wish we could spice things up a bit here on forums. These really are bland, but atleast they are not gaudy either. If an emergency forums or link can not be used then maybe it is best to leave them here for that 1 time a year, for a few hours, when forum goes down.

How about the search engine rankings? I'm pretty sure this forum has links in from other places. Moving is not good for that.

Thats one of the main reasons why I dont want to move.

Another reason is that the pagerank of Aderan Wars is worse than that of Forumotion and on google the forumotion Aderan Wars forum is found easily, unlike the other one.

Doesnt change the fact these forums are crap, and extremely limited on what you can do with them. The longer you wait the worse it will be, if we had moved the months/year ago this was talked about all those "counts" would have been on the new forums.

If you tell people that these forums are crap, then most will disagree with you.
Just look at the voting, half would like to move, and half would like to stay. On a different thread, most people say they would like to stay. Now if we just look at those who say they would like to move, some of them, if not many would like to move, because they think the other forum is better, and it doesnt mean that they think this forum is crap.

I personally like this forum very much, and it's not only because of its high pagerank and prominence on google search engines. I find the forum convenient, and many will agree. Of course you might be unhappy with its foe feature, but most people just come here to post and don't care about such feature at all.

The funny thing about this post is the fact the only reason you post to stay, would already be on the new forums had we moved the months/year ago. I don't know anything about page ranks or other stuff like that and have said so, but obviously if we had already moved then a large % of all those would have been on the new forums already. I do not understand what you mean by "convenient". Clicking one link as opposed to another seems to be as easy as the first. But my entire reasoning for not liking these perticular forums you do not seem to understand so let me explain.

These forums suck. They suck because they are bland and not overly appealing. They suck because the customization features are weak. They suck because they have nothing to help keep people here or to prolong their stay here. In other words they are not very efficent forums. Other forums have high levels of customization that help to attract players and lengthen their stay. Other forums have "other" abilities such as open chat rooms (we do have an open chat room accessable through the game). They have things such as game rooms where multiple "time wasting" games are avalible. Other forums have Much, Much better administrative tools where this forum really does fall short.

The basic point is, many other forums grow to become a living , breathing, entity by itself. One that can sustain itself even if and when the game fails. These forums are barely living now, with a very small % of the playerbase even bothering to interact on it. I do not know if you, Kenzu, have even been on what I consider a set of "successful" forums, but I know Martin has. I personally do not think these forums are successful nor do I think they ever will be due solely to the fact of the lack of customization, the lack of administrative controls, the lack of any "outside game/time wasting" sections, and the general blandness of these forums.

Thats my opinion and I will state it just as you state yours. Its rather obvious nothings going to change since this topic was posted Sat Nov 20, 2010 4:34 pm and today is Mon July 18, 2011 4:44 am. Thats almost 8 months. Thats also 8 months of post counts or page counts or what ever that could have been on the new and decent forums.
