First one is ok, guess some will love that one, makes their mass recruiting easier.
Second one is great, glad to finally see it
3rd and 4th I have to ask why? we already had links elsewhere.
Overall I hope it gets cleaned up as it has the base page all messed up right now, but nice to see some changes going on.
*edit*
I see you removed the account settings and donations link from the base page all together. I hope you clean up the veiw as right now with it listing them down i have to scroll down just to see my account

Re: new AW header links/options
it's hard getting a good layout especially when microsoft is so stupid and doesn't even setup IE to follow international standards
3rd and 4th is obvious why it's at the top.
Half the people on the planet would take half a year to notice that bottom part because apparently the trend in human development is to scroll around pages as little as possible and not follow any links they weren't told to click already.
As far as I understood that prevents someone's computer from blowing up
now if making a lightweight version of AW for phones using browsers which do not own a zoom function, which of the top links would be ok to remove?

Re: new AW header links/options
1. The links are showing up in a list down the page.
2. They show up when you do to the main page when logged out
3. Not sure lol, I normally bank or read PMs when using my phone.

Re: new AW header links/options
if someone knows how to force prevent the crappy div containers at the top from wrapping onto a new line they are welcome to share that info. I've spent about half a day with the formatting, not even my best friend big G was able to help me out.
that should then fix the issue of having the links make a big column that makes it difficult to navigate.

You should see them in 2 rows, how is it possible that you dont?
There should be following two rows below the main Aderan Wars banner:
Main Page Forum Wiki Contact Admin Banned Players Rankings New Players
Notes Account Settings Upgrade Account Tutorial FAQ/Rules News Updates
They should not be pointing down, nor should they take up more space than before.
Nomad, is the problem you have/had only on your phone or also on computer?

Re: new AW header links/options
just because something looks one way on one browser doesn't mean it will look the same on another browser or even a phone
Re: new AW header links/options
Since you changed the page a bit, think you could move officers to shorten the page a bit?

how? by making less space between them on base page?
Why is shorter page so important for you?

I get where you're coming from but for now i'll leave it there for nowseaborgium wrote:Since you changed the page a bit, think you could move officers to shorten the page a bit?
I was thinking of working on the base page layout so that both columns are approximately similar in size but atm i have no exact ideas what to put where
Re: new AW header links/options
Thank you for considering it. best of luck. Layout is the #1 worse thing in the word to get

Re: new AW header links/options
There is still an issue with the placement of the header links.
I am using firefox and when I log in via my bookmark to the Plain Login page all of the links are listed down the left hand side of the page. They are also in a plain blue font.
I have cleared the cache etc and tried again but still get the same.
In order to get the normal appearance of yellow links and green buttons I have to log out and then load the Reset login page. Once that has loaded I can then access the Main login page and login as normal and get the normal layout

Yes, they should be yellow.
But they shouldn't be left to right, they should be alligned at the centre of each row.

Re: new AW header links/options
ok, yeah they are centered
was just saying they are no longer listed top to bottom as before.
And now yellow where they were blue before.

his last question was a legit one, there's a difference between "left to right" and "centered left to right"
Re: new AW header links/options
Clearing cache makes no difference - I have done this numerous times
Issue only happens when accessing via Plain Login.
If I logout then access the Main Server link on the main page then everything resets and the screen is fine. I have also tried accessing the Plain login again from the main page and all is fine.
Issue is with both Firefox and IE and only occurs when the Plain Login page is accessed first before any other AW Page.

I have tried this with FF 3.5.1 and it worked, IE also didn't show up any issues.Manleva wrote:Clearing cache makes no difference - I have done this numerous times

opened index2
went to menu settings
cleared history
cleared cookies
cleared cache
refreshed
logged in
worked
though I have to admit it did display the top rows correctly even before

The doll is busy trying to find his way out of a wet paper bag.
While when you have it worded the way you do yes it is a legit question. However the way it was said it wasn't.
But to each there own on how the english language works.
