Aderan Role Playing Thoughts

I've talked to some of you and then seen Alex say he was interested in RP. So only way to see if it will work and be something that will last and have fun at is get it going.


So first there is a few things we must figure out before we can just start a RP broad/thread

1) Time period for RP Modern Day , Adventure , Futuristic, medieval

2) How many char. can one person have.

3) Do we want different threads such as a) Basic RP, b) Set Settings RP, c)Dueling RP

4) Do we want other threads for OUT of character post for each broad as well as an RP discussion broad

5) How mature does the admin want post to be? ( get your heads out of the gutter on that Im not talking about no XXX rated RP'ing lol ) I would think all forum rules would apply to this board but we need to know what level of maturity and what the limits are.

Would Admin consider sending out a Game Wide Email to give Forum links and an Outline of the broads on the forums as well as the newer threads that have been started recently? This might bring more of the players to the forums and get some more people involved. ( I'd gladly write something up for you

Would love to see some RP here ^_^

1) I've played Modern and medieval both are pretty fun to do ^_^

2) 1-2 main characters in my opinion should be suffice.

3) Yeah, I've done mostly Basic and some Dueling both had totally different rules might get confusing keeping them one place

4) Why not. Gives us a place to discuss in the open.

5) I'll answer once I get that job :p

I prefer Medieval as that's really the only type of RP I have been involved with but I will be glad to learn and be active in any setting that you all choose.

2) Agree with Martin 1-2 characters should be the limit for now. Its hard to keep up with more then that and then you get seeing characters in two difference places at once.

3) I would think having the different broads would just make it easier on us in a long run. Having the many types of different RP just opens an Area to others. Some might be interest in one type of RP but not the other.

4) I think this helps not having out of character talk within the threads were we are trying to RP. This will leave the RP'ing broads for in character only.

5) Ill wait on this till I hear from Admin

i am already impersonating r1maru, which is a character i invented for online games, and i have to impersonate a character that is impersonated by r1maru... my current role playing character must role play at his turn... i'll have to do that from r1maru's point of view

Make it easy on yourself, just use r1maru as your RP character and it will be less confusing

MEDIEVAL all the way!!!!!!!!

Being experianced, I say 3 MAX (I often bring characters to kill, sorry I just like it that way)

I say let each thread and its creator designate its reason for existing, and rules. You may have a short running thread thats nothing but a bar fight, or you many have a thread running for weeks/months thats a full scale war setting. These are just my ideas.

Yes, character historys and such, and if you define the "world map" these threads will be required.
5) How mature does the admin want post to be?
His call, I personally don't mind the blood. guts, and gore, along with some "light hearted romance". I don't care to much to read stuff better suited for Penthouse, Playboy, or Hustler forums tho.

I normally play strong warrior characters. The Elven nations are my main source of insparation. My favorite character of all time was a Drow elf fashioned after Drizzit. But I like my Avy, and I shall create a new character in his image. I think a half elf/human rogue thief shall be my trait. Never played a thief before, tho I always wanted an assassin character.

Nomad sounds like with your setting and the character you have stated you are like me and would like to see more a Medieval/fantasy (dragons, elves, magic,ect).

Still waiting on Admin's to answer his part of the post and then I'll get some threads started to get us going and we will go from there

**EDIT* Also with you answer to #5 Nomad that's what I was thinking as well just don't take the "Light Hearted" Romance to a XXX level

Well the benifit of Half Elves are the physical blessings of men and the magical origins of the elves. Not as strong as either race in their respective "strengths" but when combined can be devastatingly effective.

Thinking about it I would probably prefer Medieval as well, I am already thinking up a character that would work well in that setting, but less so in others...

Well We need one like the Games cause there will be 5 threads that I know of alone that needs to be in place as of now...

what is OCC?

Out Of Character -> When you speak/act/post not as your character but you as a person talking about the game or the mechanics etc, that the ingame character (That you would most likely play as though they have no idea they are in a game) couldn't/doesn't know about.

Though I'm not an expert, JadeFire can probably explain it more, though just 'Out Of Character' probably told you all you needed to know.

Your correct anything that deals with the Role play in session that is not in Character. For questions on the RP or if there is something that some one posted that you want to ask about in order to play your turn ect
