Alliance picture

There should be a 300x200 (or in a similiar size) a box, where you can upload an alliance banner if you like.

On what pages will this banner be shown ?

probably only alliance list. although tbh i'm not really in favor of this.
I heard some nasty things can be done if users are allowed to upload pictures.

Though technically users won't be uploading as much as just giving a link for the image to be simply displayed.

Plus, that you can`t control the content of the picture. Porn is forbidden, but there can be other offensive materials than porn. For example... using the svastik... some may consider that offensive, even though it is not a banned simbol.
Until an admin comes online to decide if to remove/ban that, a lot of people could be offended.

Someone can always be offended. What if I don't like puppies and you post a picture of a puppy. You'll offend me.

P.S. : Let's not forget the svastika was taken from the buddhists.

If we're talking about roleplay than people should be able to roleplay assholes as well as good guys.

or we can make that if you pay me 5$ in favor of an alliance you can then add images, if someone puts up something that can be considered offensive to a certain extent then you loose the privilege to post a picture until you pay again.

if there's real money involved very often people suddenly become more intelligent.

And before you try to argue otherwise, it's very easily decidable if something is offensive.

If i see two adult guys holding hands then that's obviously no problem. Having two people kiss (whatever the gender) i'll be removing pictures and saying that's not ok to the user (and removing privilege upon repeated offenses). (I'd like to have everyone enjoy playing the game, that's including kids)
Having obvious rasist,sexual,sexist, ect. material will get you immediately banned, having it subtly rasist will get you anywhere between a warning and a removal of the privilege.

I know where to draw the line and often know when people are trying to BS me or try to be smart. (Mostly because that's what I do very gladly in RL)

Yep ..... that's a very good solution.

Many people act like fools under anonymity .... when they have something to lose their brain starts to function normally.

hence the requirement of paying some nominal fee, maybe 5 bucks to get the privilege of being able to link up a picture or banner of your alliance.
and if you keep putting up crap even after being warned or obviously putting up something offensive then you loose the privilege and maybe even get banned if it's serious enough

Nice idea, 5 $ to upload your picture or banner of your choice agreeing to terms and condition
Free if you choose a pre-detemined picture, their shoould still be a free option, but you would then need to choose one offered by the game ( like when you choose an emoticon)
