Gold Bug?
I had a convo that got me to thinking the other day, so I did some checking & found that on the "private Trading" page...
100 gold = 500 turns
100 gold = 263,500 UU
100 gold = 102,107,822,000 kuwal
but on the "spend gold" page all you get is...
100 gold = 500 turns
100 gold = 177,500 UU
100 gold = 71,790,100,500 kuwal
is there a reason for the difference or is this a bug that needs to be reported?
I would much rather use my own resources to better my acct than trade with anyone. so I was curious as to what is the reason for this, if it isn't a bug?

Re: Gold Bug?
I can explain this because I'm pretty sure I'm right.
The private trading takes the value of gold in AT and converts that into the other resources based on the current GM rates.
So it's 1gold:5AT
And every AT has the value of what is said on the 7 day average thing.
Divide both private trade numbers by the current "value" and you get 500 AT.
P.S. This is why it would be good for you to sell your gold to a gold buyer. If they buy it between 1.78mUU & 2.6m UU per 1k, you will be better off than spending it AND your PTR will improve.

I understand that, my question is why doesn't the "get gold" page do the same? is it a bug or is it intentional? if it is intentional what is the reason?

Re: Gold Bug?
The "get gold" page probably reflects the trade center prices. I'm not too sure, just offering my word on the subject.

I am a bit confused here as the only 'Get Gold" page that I can find only allows you to purchase Gold for real currency.
Can you provide a better description of the pages where you have taken the info from?

my mistake... it is the "SPEND GOLD" button.top of the page, in yellow, has "get gold" to the left of it, & "tutorial" to the right. I apologize for the mistake, I will attempt to fix my original post.

Re: Gold Bug?
I sent Admin Martin a PM some time ago about this very subject. It is still sitting in my outbox so it has never been received.
I hope you get a response as it is something I would like to know as well.
Here is a copy and paste of my unread message to admin.

TRADE HISTORY
Trade Initiator Trade Partner Goods Sent Goods Requested Time Status Comments
Exceptional Trader,,,,SA47,,,,,2,600,000 Untrained,,,,,,,1,000 Gold ,,,,,,,,Send Value: 4,564 Turns,,,,,,Ask Value: 5,000 Turns
This trade shows 2,600,000 UU to be worth 4,564 Turns and 1,000 gold to be worth 5,000 turns. Is this correct? I am asking because I was under the impression the gold trade market was basically a equal trade situation. In the trade section 1,000 gold will get you 1,775,000 UU. I requested just shy of 1.5 times that rate and still do not have an equal trade rate.
Is that correct and how you envisioned it to work? I am just wondering as it is different then most aspects of the game. It actually encourages trade with real people over the game. So just wondering.
Hope all is well with everyone.

Re: Gold Bug?
the hard rate is always 5 turns for 1 gold
the different resources have their rates set by tradecenter rates
it can very well happen, though unlikely that also the reverse, of what SA wrote about trades between players, will end up being the case. of course it might get looked at should that ever happen.
