A farewell bash Empty A farewell bash

Post by seaborgium Sat Oct 29, 2011 1:25 am

Farewells can be such sad occasions; usually rather staid, somewhat formal, and full of long speeches. We once again find ourselves preparing for one.

One of our members and a long time player of the game is about to step away. He’s well-known to many and before this farewell is over I am sure that he will once again grace us with some brief comments.

Since we are not a very conventional group of people we have decided to break away from the normal farewell party and instead opt for something with a bit more of a bang.

The catering has been arranged but the kitty is a bit light, so it will be a B.Y.O affair. Invitations will be sent out to all guests in the near future advising the location and what you need to bring.

In a normal situation, RSVPs are usually expected. However, we have decided that no apologies will be accepted. Instead, if you don’t want to come to the party... then the Party will come to you.

Ian my friend this is for you.

A farewell bash Empty Re: A farewell bash

Post by curumo Sat Oct 29, 2011 1:39 am

If I may throw in my two cents as well Smile

As you may all well know TIE and TM have decided to unite their family once again. We were one. Then we were two. I guess it's natural to become one again. However, as with all reunions, there are some losses. Some things get lost. Such is our case as well. But in our case we didn't lose a thing, but rather a good friend who decided to end his AW carreer. A friend who helped shape the very nature and face of this game. A friend who was there for us when we needed him. A friend who was both hated and feared (and at the same time - respected) by enemies and loved and respected by his allies.

I'm pretty sure the more perceptive among you know who I am talking about. (especially cause Sea already revealed it xD)

When such a time comes and you see a good friend leave, if you are like us, you will want to send him on his way in a special way (one worthy of him). Well we of TMI have prepared a surprise farewell party for you, my friend.

I hope you will enjoy it and I hope you will remember us.

So without further ado:

Ian, this is for you.

I'm not quite grasping the concept of this "bash".

If it's a goodbye shouldn't it be in the "goodbye" section?

I just got done adding up just for you ready?

You lost 1,557,541 Men and weapons
We lost 1,291,329 men and weapons

You went from Defensive Action: 74,209,818,272 to a Defensive Action: 11,454,010,491.
I wouldn't call that a mini massing.

I am sure that means you lost more then we did.
A piece of advice, I wouldn't rebuild too much, it will put ya back at the top of our list.

A reminder to TMI, noone is to respond to anything other then leadership. Don't feed trolls.

so let me get this right: TM has united with TIE and now Ian is thinking about leaving the game and he decides to have a little fun so you guys helped him out in massing on random accounts? SPEED was unlucky or this is a older grudge you guys held on him for some long time and now you guys took the occasion? Pls clear it out for me someone:)

Actually it wasn't Ian's idea at all. Ian decided to leave the game as he doesn't have much time to play and made me leader of TIE. I was then approached by Sea to merge our alliances and I accepted.

Then we both decided to honor Ian in some way and give him a parting gift of sorts. It's a game and what do 0 and 1s cost, really - especially if you're having fun. And we ARE having fun.

Oh and just so you know? Feel free to hit us back. Wink

thx for clearing that up, curumo.

Is that a threat, seaborgium? I don't think I was spamming, considering som other posts, but if your brains works only up to that level, it your call. You seemed once moral to me, but it's nice seeing that in fact you are one of Ian's puppet pets.

I don't really get the idea of what you guys are doing here. You, or some of you, are the militants of fair playing and farming policies and bull like that. You all posed as ideal diplomats, but now you are showing the real face of yours: a bunch of bullies, that suck up to Ian and your only fun is massing neutral players just to show others that you sooo tough...Hrrr...Nice job done on SPEED and now please tall the audience what positive thing have you guys achieved massing him...I don't think he really disturbed anyone lately...

Oh, you have fun?
But do Speed and Starwolf have fun too?
It must be a lot of fun to be massed by someone way bigger than oneself, knowing one has no chance of victory.

Is TMI becoming the new DDE?

Not only has TMI massed SPEED, now also StarWolf has been massed. He has been massed by Vex for no reason whatsoever.

StarWolf has only 5 million population, why did you have to mass him?

If you want to fight so hard, why don't you fight even fights against each other? Massing someone much smaller than you definitely requires no skill.

Why are you throwing your weight around?
What do you want to achieve by massing random players, who are unable to fight you back?
What happened to your ideals?
Or did you throw away your principles because you are so powerful now?

I cannot believe this is happening!

Well get over it kenzu, there was a lot more to the plan, but our hand was forced thanks to you.

We aren't the new dde. we still have a farming policy. That can be changed if ya like.

This means so much to me guys, thanks for the send off/retirement party Very Happy

As others have said: I stepped down from leading The Imperium & am either going to go semi-inactive, or simply leave the game. I am officially retired from leading stuff on AW, and may well leave the game after this war is done.

But in the mean-time, its PARTY time Twisted Evil

.... and I think you guys know who I d love to invite to the party Razz
