Successful sabotage and assassination missions will leave the attacker's name hidden unless the target was using realm alert. The chance to detect the name is equal to the covert/assassin bonus each level provides (Low=10%, Medium=25%, High=40%, Critical=60%)

Does sending extra spies lower the chance of getting caught?

nope, but it doesn't matter since no one actually ever uses realm alert for it to make a difference

I have to disagree with you admin, and I can prove it as one of my officers was being sabbed and asked what to do and I told him to hit crit and try to catch him.

since no more hits came, we now going to just blame the guy who mucked up a raiding hit on him earlier in the day.

Crit is also used in war times as a preventative as well.

The risk/reward makes it so the only time it makes sense to up the alert level is when you know for a FACT someone will attack you within a certain time window.

That is correct, is that not how it should be?

I mean why even do covert attacks and such if your oponent has cheap and easy means of finding out who it was. Kinna makes covert attacks worthless.

And a further note, another officer was sabbed while on crit, and there was only 1. I guarentee you if he had not been on crit there would have been many more to follow as I feel it was nothing but ME building. So the update is useful.
