Well that was a bit different...

What did everybody else think about it?
(Asuming everyone got a survey to do when they logged in this morning and it wasn't just a scam to get my thoughts....)

Also why would RAW UP be limited to 30k? (One of the survey questions)

I think it was a good idea to get the most input of users.
I won't comment on the bug section.

30k that seems kinda low..

I don't really see why it should be limited... I await the survey writers explanation on this one...
(I assume Admin is the survey writer, but who knows, there was no signiature at the end...)

Oh and I liked the survey too, it's a good idea.

I think surveys are a good method of finding out what players like and how to make the game better for them.

Afterall its only a small minority of players who come on forums. Most players simply play the game without ever visiting the forums.

Honestly answered/replied all questions.

I too wonder why the UP limit?

And it should be limited on total and RAW, IF it is going to be limited at all.

I prefer the cost just get uber crazy rather then a actual hard limit.

Unit Production limit to me is a big no-no.

As UU prices rise the point where its better to invest into unit production vs. buy UU also changes. Investing in Unit Production to put it simply becomes more and more profitable for longer.

As admin efficiency drops the point where its better to invest into unit production vs. buy UU also changes. Investing in Unit Production becomes more better and more profitable.

Why put a artificial limit on Unit Production? If people are investing in it there's only going to be 2 reasons:

1.) Its worth investing in unit production (see above)
2.) They can't do maths, or otherwise just want a high Unit Production to look good/ as a personal accomplishment/ because they can't log in very often (compensate for less income by more U.P).

If its 1... then limiting Unit Production is a very bad idea and will have serious implications for players. If it's 2 - then they ve achieved a high Unit Production at a significant cost to themselves (i.e. economically). That is the price they pay.

Eithier way - it should not be limited.

Yeah ... UP limited at 30k has no sense. Given the fact that after 20k the next increase is 3000 at least for the moment, considering the UU price is better to buy UU.

To go from 20k to 30k UP is 450 bil ... you can buy a minimum of 3 mil UU with that and even at 30% AE (again a worst case scenario) you get a minimum of 45 mil / turn extra income so 2.1 bil / day. It will take quite a while for the UU price to go at 210 mil / k.

At 30k UP the increase will probably be 4000 and again it will take a while for the UU price to raise enough to merit a further UP investment.

So as a conclusion ... how far people will invest in UP will be mostly limited by the game economy.

The next time I logged in I was able to retake the survey. I for one would like to see the results of said survey.

Eve-Online, an online game that is more like a job you pay for, has a similar tack to Admin in Player Economics.

The fundamental rule of Player Economics is simple, every profitable element should require players to do work in some form, be it transporting goods or simply logging on to move afew digits. Having structures or factories that are capable of producing vast amounts of profit with no work makes most game's a goldfarmer's dream or in the case of AW, makes all those players who joined first nigh-on-untouchable, I refer to this as the 'Avalanche' effect. Buy one money factory, save for another, then buy another, then another... ad infinitum.

It also has a nasty effect of making NEARLY ALL gaming interaction pointless as you can just pour money onto any problem and make them go away. Which also leads to the griefing of other players, because when you've no reason to play, making others suffer is the only fun left.

Besides, I disagree with the 30k limit, supply and demand and all.

Well tbh it ain't as simple as that in AW

First you have AE which is really a kick in the balls to those "who joined first".
Spoiler:

Plus it's a non reset server here, at least until I open a reset server. It does have its advantages but also drawbacks.

My tought is that all ABSOLUTE limits brings down the efficiency of any active player's actions. DYNAMIC value of what an upgrade cost (let's say UP/army size) brings back an equilibrium.

AE only effects income proper, not the potential kuwal to be earned via UU research, which is currently unlimited, whilst not technically a good investment for later game players, its still a massive source of income if you've invested money into it.

yeah AE affects income only.
However UP is a VERY COSTLY bugger
I have the largest raw in the game and currenly i can only rasie it 100-200 points a day if i put all income into it.
