brokers

Post by Survivor on Wed Nov 11, 2009 11:37 am

pretty simple.. currently as it is you can only broker ONE type of resource ( either kuwal/UU/turns ) in exchange for another one.
If I try to trade my 1b kuwal and 10kUU in one single trade, It's only the kuwal that goes through... If i ask for more than one resource, its the first in the list that gets requested...
basically I'm asking for being able to trade more than one resource at the same time... would help a lot both in time and effort, not to mention the trade limits inplace.

cheers

would basicly remove the limits all together wouldnt it?

I mean you have 5, thats more then most games

3 outgoing, and doing this basicly doubles it to 6

well if you can recieve multiple as well as send I guess it actuall like 12 or 18 or something?

Nomad, I don't think you understand what he is saying.

He's only proposing that you could send a broker with 10k uu and 1k turns for 10bil Kuwal, instead of making the broker only support a trade of 10k uu for 9,999,999,999 Kuwal and a 2nd broker of the 1k turns for the 1 remaining Kuwal needed.

This is more of a simplification then a method of being able to place more brokers. Considering the brokers would still only have 1 destination, not multiple. And to send multiple types of resources, means you would be receiving multiple types of resources, so your other point makes very little sense.

I re read it and I still see it as asking to be able to send 2 different types of resources, and recieve 1 type in a single trade.

I'll let Suvivor comment on its meaning for sure, I may be very confused.

yup, thats pretty much it. It only makes sense that player X would send everything he wants to send to player Y in one single trade.
I'm not quite sure of the current incoming trade limit is but if its 5 i guess it would increase the resources that can be sent to a particular player from 5 to 15 chunks, provided each of the 5 trade consists of kuwal, UU as well as AT.

Now that I think about it, this means that it would be a lot easier to pool in resources...
So .. I'm thinking, make it so that sending two resources uses up 2 trade slots out of the 5. so basically the trade limit won't be affected but it would make broker system easier to use. Laughing

Survivor may I ask you to say why you think the broker exists at all in the first place.

Afterwards please comment what you think the broker is NOT intended to be used as and hence little will be done to improve said functions.

to exchange resources

Can't really seem to think of any except for mass transferring of resources..

On a side note, I fail to see why you're asking me those questions. Maybe you got me wrong. Let me explain what I meant by this:
Survivor wrote: So .. I'm thinking, make it so that sending two resources uses up 2 trade slots out of the 5. so basically the trade limit won't be affected but it would make broker system easier to use.
using an example
Lets say I want to trade my 2b kuwal and 20kUU to you for your 2AT ( supplies for war ).
For me to send you that right now I'd have to set up two brokers.. one broker sending UU and the other sending kuwal.
So from the 5 incoming trades you have 2 are occupied and 3 are left.

In the same way.. What I am saying is having the ability to trade the 2bkuwal and 20kUU in the same broker BUT they would still take up TWO slots as I am sending TWO resources. So like before from the 5 incoming trades you have 2 are occupied and 3 are left and the broker limit is NOT affected in anyway at all... just save you the trouble of setting up two brokers Smile

I got it allright what you want to do, the first time.

Well, you fail to see why I asked it because you didn't get the answers correctly Smile

The broker exists, and was implemented in SGW in order to allow trades between people without risks of scamming. Since if there are only one way trades, there's a chance that you wont get anything after you send your stuff away.

It is also there so that two people can agree on a trade and dont have to be online at the same moment.

If it were according to me, I'd set it up that brokers expire after 2 hours instead of the current 24.
Hence there is no reason for me to bother doing this.
The fact that you can still receive brokers even after you maxed out your outgoing ones waiting for them to be accepted by others also makes this suggestion partially redundant

I see what you are getting at, you would like to have 2 or 3 types of resources in a broker, but is it really too much work to send more brokers?

As far as I know you can have 2 outcomming trades and 3 incomming trades.
