Issue with Strike Action

Post by matrygg on Wed Sep 16, 2009 7:42 am

My understanding was that your Strike Action is a combination of your attack forces and any weapons you have. I recently sold off the weapons held by my Attacking forces, but did not get rid of the forces themselves. My Strike Action dropped to 0. As a test, I bought some IFV's and it's gone up, but not by a lot. Am I wrong in how this works, or is this a bug?

looks right to me(just spied you)

attack forces add no action unless they are ARMED, ie: have a weapon. Think about it, what is a man going to do without a gun or weapon, bitch slap attack?

Atm, you only have a small amount of your attack forces armed, thats why your strike action is low, if you were to buy more weapons, it will increase again. It will stop increasing once you have 1 weapon for each attack unit you have, ie: everyone has a gun.

Note: If you attack someone(with a defense), without all your attack forces being armed, you will lose extra men because of this.

If your troops are completely unarmed, they cannnot do anything against armed soldiers.

Imagine that just like ten tousands prisonners of war walking a road, but only a few hundred soldiers with submachine guns guarding them. the armed guys demoralise unarmed troops and the unarmed will not fight, that's human behaviour.

in other words, to maximise strike, arm all atack troops with attack weapons and defense troops with defense weapons.

So basically in one sentence

1 best attack weapon for each 1 attack soldier gives you the maximum possible strike action (supers and mercenaries give twice the strike action per weapon used than normal soldiers)

I recently attacked someone whose defense was much lower than my strike power . I dealt about 27 mil damage and killed about 7 of his/her soldiers.

his defense dealt about 15 million to me , and he/she killed about 19 of my soldiers .

all of my soldiers are trained supers with APC.

I wanted to know if their is a bug, or why is it when my strike force is superior to my enemies defense i have more casualties.

You attack, your guys have a higher chance of getting hit than the other bunch of weirdos' sitting in their trenches and having a go at your underlings.

And if both sides have the same army buildup, then the person doing the attack to steal kuwal, will always lose more units. It's just the way it goes
